Which is a good reason to pull the reserve handle first. Maybe that's also a good argument for raising the activation altitudes on AAD's?My reality and yours are quite different. SkymonkeyONE 3 #28 September 22, 2011 I have twice found myself in positions where I was slightly <900 feet and cutaway from badly spinning malfunctions. Clean deployments and landings, both times under a Tempo 120. I have never had a cutaway with a Skyhook-equipped rig. On one other occasion I was spun up so hard under a main that it was impossible to cut it away (pre-hard housings). I fired my reserve into the mess ~800 feet, ended up with a spinning reserve, then with all my might I got the main chopped and landed the reserve cleanly. That was Eloy Holiday Boogie 2001 and a shit-load of people saw that one. Mellisa Nelson had the same thing happen to her later that year at another DZ.
