Starting CRW

Recommended Posts

Im going to be learning to do CRW in Perris Valley later this Month and wondering if Anyone has any beginner tips? im reading
http://www.vorosmeteor.hu/downloads/irodalom/83CRW.PDF

but it seems pretty old, and people whove been in it a long time id figure have some good pointers, besides getting familiar with the canopy and practice which are obviously both essential

thanks

Check your reserve date and USPA expiration date. No sense getting there to find out you can't jump. Practice your stable exit from the plane and be ready to feel like a noob again. CRW has a learning curve so go with an open mind ready to learn, practice and most importantly to have fun. Judging from this board if you want to join a team then be ready to pleasure a goat :S

No, we would prefer you stay away from the goats. The electric fence is not to keep the goats in, but to keep the skydivers out!

Who's doing CRW at Perris these days?

I don't know if they still jump regularly, but Brett Clark and Mike Muscat call the place home.

bring extra layers (long johns/ under armor) and glove liners. crw dawgs stay up longer and temps aloft can be pretty chilly.

bring at least 1 extra pair of shoes, and jump in shoes you wont mind losing if necessary.

relax, the working time of a crw jumps is measured in minutes instead of seconds.

it's also a good idea to circle up at the beginning of each jump day to go over winds and emergency procedures.
diamonds are a dawgs best friend
