CrW is the Dark Side

Recommended Posts

Since we've been calling CrW the 'Dark Side' since Star Wars came out and before Freeflying was even thought of as more than "unstable" flying....

I wonder why Freeflyers insist on trying to hijack the term?

Is it insecurity? ego? a need to fit in with the cool, unwashed, barely packed nylon grapplers?

I'd like opinions on the subject from the experts....

...
Driving is a one dimensional activity - a monkey can do it - being proud of your driving abilities is like being proud of being able to put on pants

No expert, but I don't think the free flyers hyjacked the term as much as the belly fallers labeled the freaks with it, just like the label CRW dogs use for all fallers which I can't say in a public forum.

So......if you are a freeflying, crw dawg that BASE jumps would 3 Darks make a Light?

I was thinking gang??? :P

I remember turning up to my original DZ one day about 10-15 yrs ago with a crw packed woomera container (pull out reserve) with compulsory canopies hanging out, a home built sugar glider wing suit (before birdman existed), a camera helmet with several videos and stills cameras, etc - I wore all this heading to the emplaning area and I got exactly the "dark side" response I expected. ;)
Stay Safe - Have Fun - Good Luck

The above could be crap, thought provoking, useful, or . . But not personal. You decide.

Y'know...

A CRW downplane DOES look a heck a lot like a TIE fighter... B|

May not have anything to do with it, but it sure is the 'Dark Side'. Looks like lots of fun (someday) -- for now I'm focussing on bigway RW...

I've never really cared for Freeflying to be referred to as the "Dark Side". In my experience it has always been non freeflyers assigning the term to it.
