sdctlc 0 #1 September 4, 2003 Anybody have one? Have an opinion? Thinking about getting one and curious about some impressions. They are from Free Fall Accessories Inc. They do carry a lifetime warranty Thanks, Scott C."He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
Luv2Fall 0 #2 September 4, 2003 I was seriously thinking about buying one........the price is great...........but price has bitten me in the ass relative to my Sapphire purchase. I just ordered an Alti III due to its reputation and to insure I made a "quality" purchase. I just couldn't find enough information to make an informed descison "ms?" on by the Evolution. Great looking altimeters......just wish I knew more. Edited to add: The Evolution carries a greater price tag than I had orginally thought.........thus price isn't a factor, but rather a lack of info. FreeFall4life 0 #3 September 4, 2003 I know you guys think cheaper means cheap product and i feel the same way about some things but these altimeters are nothing like that these are the best altimeters i have seen out seriously, and the only altimeter i have seen with a lifetime warrantee on em give em a try and u decide
tinfoil 0 #4 September 4, 2003 Do you have a link to the manufactures web site or a store that sells them? Did a quick search of google, DZ.com and para-service but didn't find anything. “- - Sumo is the greatest of sports. It has power, grace, speed and cluture. Plus options for the altimeter are infinite

skybytch 268 #12 September 5, 2003 Quotei was just stating my opinion It is okay for you to give your opinion about gear items. It's just that your opinion would have more credibility if you were upfront in your profile or your post that you sell equipment. Your posts in this thread skirt the edge of the line between sharing an opinion and advertising, imho. In case you haven't read your private messages, your other posts were 100% advertisement and have been deleted. It is possible to be both a gear sales person and to follow the "no advertising" rule in posting here. If you're here just to drum up business you'll find it very difficult. If you're here to share your knowledge, meet new people and enjoy the community, you'll find it's not hard at all.

I was not awear that he was adding information or the manner in witch it was presented. He has been SLAPPED!!!!! Every one is correct in there statements regarding his indescressions and I take full responsibility. He is a good kid, just exciteable and learning about our sport from an indrustry point of view. This kind of thing wil not happen again!! Is there anything else that I should know about? If so let me know and I will deal with it. Again, I am very sorey!! As indiscretions go, his was rather mild, and knowing the above makes it totally understandable. I remember being new to the industry too.
 sdctlc 0 #15 September 5, 2003 OK I don’t have anything to do with the company but a previous thread about the altimeters caused me to contact them about some service on one of my altimeters. I have to say that they have been nothing but professional and fast in communications. After that I started this thread to get some opinions on their product. Partially due to the responses I have been getting from them and on a few PM recommendations on the quality of the altimeter, I decided to get one to replace an old altimeter I have. They have been nothing but helpful and if the quality of the unit is half as good as it is being sold as, I will be nothing but happy. Also since I can get some custom work done on the face to be exactly what I want, I don’t mind giving them a try. When I get the altimeter I will post a full review of the unit.... from an unbiased opinion! I guess I am willing to give a chance to the smaller guy or a new piece of equiptment. In the past I have been generally happy when I do this but before I do it I need to be convinced that the claims are somewhat based in reality. In this case all the info I have been able to gather lets me feel comfortable in getting one but I can say that if I am unhappy with it I will let it be known in a review….. How often do you look at your alti? What are you trying to get from it when you do? It's not that I'm not into style, if that were the case I certainly wouldn't be worried about colors in my jumpsuit, canopy, container etc etc. It just seems to me that in the case of a customized alti faceplate you are sacrificing style for function and that is dangerous.
 skymedic 0 #19 September 6, 2003 I wouldn't be sacrificing function...as I dont read the numbers when I look at my altimeter...I know if the arrow is all the way up then I am at 12,000....if it is to the left I am about 9,000...if it is down I am at 6,000....if it is to the right...time to pull. simple enough.
