*2008 Women’s Vertical World Record*

Camp ~ Monday, March 17th – Wednesday, March 19th
Record Attempts ~ Thursday, March 20th – Saturday, March 22nd
Sunday, March 23rd is a weather day

REGISTRATION

World Record Fees Includes, 15 Attempts, Oxygen, Extra Altitude, Judges Fees, Cameraflyer fees, Paperwork Submissions and Miscellaneous DZ Fees. Camp Jumps are additional.

Registration Rates will be posted soon.

WARM-UP JUMPS

We will be organizing for three days prior to the record attempts and organizing no more than 5 jumps per day at 13,000’; it is not a requirement to attend, however, we envision the camp to help determine slots.

SDCHEDULE FOR ATTEMPTS

• 5 Attempts per Day @ 16,500’ with Oxygen – 2 plane shots
• Be on time!! (For dirt dives, debriefs, loads, etc.)

Camera Flyers
Jason Peters, Norman Kent, Gregg Gason

Judges
Scott Smith, Sarah Farooqui-Thompson, Jami Pallasch

Since we will be adding/rotating people throughout the weekend, it is imperative that the ladies who are not currently jumping on the attempt, keep warm and up in the air. Therefore, ladies who aren’t on the record will be organized by Steve Curits and will be organizing dives that are similar to the record skydives. If you do not get on the first record jumps, does not mean that you will not get on any record jumps.

Everyone should plan on staying through the entire day on Sunday, March 23rd.

We will be having a meeting at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19th at the drop zone. Please make your travel arrangements with this in mind.

DISCLAIMER

BEFORE you register, please be very clear about the following – Paying your registration fee and registering for the WVWR does NOT guarantee you a slot on the actual record dives. The objective of this event is break the current World Record. This event is not a skills camp.

After Tuesday, March 18th, there will be no refunds of the registration fee.

Preparing for this event involves more than just becoming a better flyer. World record events are very exhausting physically, mentally and emotionally. Building a successful world record requires not only that people with sufficient talent show up, but that they all fly their very best under pressure. Be prepared to perform at your best under pressure.

Again, our purpose is to build the largest female vertical formation possible, as safely as possible. This means that people will most likely be cut and/or moved and/or cut and added again later. You must be emotionally prepared.

We thank all of you for your dedication and hard work. We look forward to this event. If you have any further questions you may reach us at:

Ladies,

There are some participants looking to hook up with rides to the DZ from Phoenix. If anyone's available, or renting a car... or can help - let us know!!

This is also a good place to touch base and hook up with rides and such. Otherwise, there is a shuttle offered for $70 (i think...).

Less than 3 weeks!!!!!!!!! :o:)

Ladies,

Many have asked about the Warm-Up costs - there is no additional fees, however jumps are $25/each prior the record. The Warm-Up jumps are recommended, especially if we haven't jumped with you, but are not required. It may be a good idea to plan a few warm-ups with the group to get acquainted with everyone's flying styles, fall rates, etc.

It is OK if you cannot do the warm-ups, however, if we do not know your flying capabilities there is a higher chance you may start on the "B" team.

Please let us know if you have any questions leading up to the event.

Thanks so much -- now let's build a RECORD!!!!
(27 ladies registered thus far ;)

Melissa
