Sitflying Techniques

Recommended Posts

Hi,
can anyone tell me the advantage of sitflying with the arms bent 90° upwards at the elbows with the hands facing outward again at 90°, compared to the "standard" method with arms streched out to the side?

And does anyone have a link to a video with people sitflying with this technique?

Thanks in advance for your answers!

Mike

After seeing an orginizer at one of our local boogys doing this I have been flying like that a bit. I think it does 2 things. Helps present your upper back to the wind, and gets you flying your legs better. This will lead to easier movement of your arms for docks.

If you are describing what I think, where it kind of looks like doing an Egyptian-impression, that is how I fly my sitfly.

It gives you better control for slight variations in speed because you can spill some air with your hands to speed up, or push down to slow up a bit.

The arms straight out method is awkward to me now, plus it does allow for easier docking because mroe flying is being done with your legs.
Not again!
