sunnydee123 0 #1 November 10, 2003 Well not only did I work my ass off with my continued headdown efforts but it was all done THIS weekend over gorgeous Marathon Key. Made some BAD ASS jumps with some GREAT people and feel much more confident that within the next handful of jumps - I will be "there". Going to try and pull some pics off my video but here is a fun little pic I got - all girls jumps...tons-o-fun! Dreams become reality, one choice at a time... grega 0 #4 November 10, 2003 Great photo. You sure are lucky If only we had such a weather here in Slovenia, and so many freeflyers like you do "George just lucky i guess!"
Taz 0 #5 November 10, 2003 That's awesome. I've been feeling really freefly-uncurrent (weather, injury, blah, blah) but finally got up in the air yesterday and tried some of the HD exercises from another thread. I think my transitions are too quick, I just keep ending up in a monster backslide and have to transition back before I end up miles off the DZ . Sunnydee, your determination on this is inspiring. Can't wait for Eloy... I'm just going to crank them out until I get it, my cash runs out, or they throw me off the DZ -TIt's the Year of the Dragon. sunnydee123 0 #6 November 10, 2003 Yup...that is Kate (and Rene). I'll pass the message along to Kate when I see her. She was FABULOUS this weekend! She is newly on her head (lucky duck)but together we click and who wants to do solos in THE KEYS @ Taz.....thanks for the comment my friend. Yup Yup...I am one determined little mo-funky for sure. I just love what I am doing these days. Keep up your efforts as well and perhaps in Eloy we'll get some bad ass pics. Unlike Skymama, I am ALL ABOUT being "famous". Pics and videos welcome Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...
Taz 0 #7 November 11, 2003 Sweet. We'll see how this weekend goes... I'm signing up for some coaching at Eloy to help me focus and figure out what's up with my backsliding bod. I fly camera too, so I can help make you famous! But only if I'm close enough to get you in the shot... Blue ones--TIt's the Year of the Dragon. flait 0 #8 November 11, 2003 On the subject of coaching..anyone know how I can get hold of a coach out there that doesnt charge an arm and a leg (poor student)? I'll be there from the 15th Dec to the 7th Jan. I'm looking for some HD coaching. Thanks
sunnydee123 0 #9 November 11, 2003 Keep in mind...you get what you pay for . From all I've seen and asked about so far, coaching runs about $55 - 75 per jump. Just my 2 cents...keep your ears open while wondering the DZ because you never know what you might hear.....My thought process is that I want to "get" the general idea of headdown and THEN pay for coaching to help me tweak it. Right or wrong...it's what my plan is today. Good luck! Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...
Taz 0 #10 November 12, 2003 I'm sure there will be lots of people at the boogie willing to give you advice and help you out between your dives without going for a full coaching package. I did lots of that when I was learning to sitfly: I remember paying for one coach jump with Mike Ortiz. His camera somehow didn't turn on so I didn't get footage of the dive, which mostly consisted of me "doing the beetle" on my back anyway. It was actually much more helpful for me to debrief some of my jumps with him over the next few days and get some advice on the ground. Within five days I was okay for a four-way with more experienced flyers. Just a thought for when the budget's tight. -TIt's the Year of the Dragon. sunnydee123 0 #12 November 17, 2003 When are you coming back to Sebastian .......I have actually thought about coming to Pahokee a few times but things are going GREAT at Sebastian again.....Flying the Otter and "the vibe" is back I did 13 smack daddy solos this weekend and am almost 100 sure I am on my head....protrack is helping me believe that so now I need to learn how to hold it and stay stable.....Actually I need someone to fly camera for me a few times to REALLY SEE if it is true..........But I'm telling myself it is. hkf 0 #13 November 17, 2003 If u r in Sebastian then Chris Lynch should be there now at the Free Fly Training Centre. A couple of jumps with him could really let you know how you are doing, and iron out any problems. I did a load of coached jumps with him last year, and he's not only a fantastic flier but gives a graet brief and a video debrief. I think it was his slot + $25, which was cash well invested. Good Luck If you see him say Hi from James
sunnydee123 0 #14 November 18, 2003 I did see Chris this past weekend for a brief second...he did a bunch of jumps with my little friend Clair last season and she was really happy. We'll see what happens. I'm going to talk to Mr. Brown this weekend and see if I can get some pals to do a jump or two with me and get video.....to see what is what. I want to make the most of coach jumps and I know I could still go out and work on my transitions....it's all good! Dreams become reality, one choice at a time... hkf 0 #15 November 18, 2003 Was it this little friend Clair, she's my little friend aswell. Bin doing quite a few jumps with her this winter in England. Weather not as good as Sebastian, she is coming back in February, and I'm coming out in March.

sunnydee123 0 #18 November 20, 2003 well my boyfriend took me out headdown for about 30 jumps just so I could feel it and try to get my bearings but the "rule" was always to go right into my sit when he let go so not to cork (on those jumps I was normally hanging on for dear life ).......Then for about 30 jumps we would go out and he would make me let go to feel the difference but again, instinct was to get into my sit to stay with him. NOW for about 13 jumps I've been doing solos, all myself, trying all sorts of exits and just transitioning so I understand what it feels like to actually get headdown and not just be put there so not sure what you would consider my actual "headdown" jump #. Honestly - I don't really think at first I was trying to get on my head - I was just going for the ride....Now I am working to get there. So that is all I have to say about that Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...
GeeeeeeFly 0 #19 November 20, 2003 It took me some time to really get stable on my head and be able to move to a dock and hold it, so it's all learning curve... I am now in the process of teaching my girlfriend how to fly on her head, problem being I am 100 lbs over her exit wheight and I have to hold her in the position but once I let go it's cork time... She is frustrated but not half as much as me since I am not exactly the best coach. Usually she will go into a stand or sit inorder to keep up or I will belly out in order to save the dive... Good luck Sunny, it took me around 200 jumps to get to where others would trust my ability... Dagny 0 #22 November 22, 2003 You know...we should jump together some time! You could go head down and I could fly belly, maybe for a little perspective... Even if we don't do that, I think you've been working really hard on getting your freefly skills down and I admire that! How did it go today?Take me, I am the drug; take me, I am hallucinogenic. -Salvador Dali
sunnydee123 0 #23 November 24, 2003 It went FABULOUSLY.....Dave Brown is simply an AMAZING coach. We talked before the jumps to discuss "the plan", then we did the jumps, talked more afterwards and reviewed the tape. Let me tell ya, I am buying myself a Barbie/Ken doll for reference. It was so cool to watch my tape, stop it at key points and then shape the doll into what I was doing and then understand what I need to do to correct it. By the 3rd coach jump let's just say I was not so quick to pop to my feet and transition. I was determined to stay on my head, and did...but also could see how much I move around. Dave Brown is a good focal point though Now I can take what I learned, try and master it and then get a few more. It's all good - I'm willing to work! Have a super turkey day gang!
