VectorBoy 0 #1 November 9, 2003 I have a freefly tube wide enough to attach, via the two ring cuttaway, to both feet. Noramally I route the cuttaway cable underneath my FF suit pants cuff and the fairly tight ankle straps on each foot. Then on to the loops of both the two rings. All of this of course under the jump suit leaving only the handle exposed but secured from moving and at least a foot of excess cable past the two ring closing loops. My problem is that the cable works itself out during the buffeting and ends up jettisoning itself either on one side or both. Any suggestions on how to make everything stay put without making a cuttaway impossible? Also does it seem to matter whether or not the rings face out or in? My guess is like integrity risers is that it matters not.
BlueSBDeath 2 #2 November 10, 2003 Try putting a rubber band wraped several times around the cable end. I have done this for DRCP for students to simulate pull force, you should be able to pull it. VectorBoy 0 #3 November 10, 2003 I have thought about doing that very thing. Since my tube is a common design I thought others would have come across this and have a common cure. Thanks.
diablopilot 2 #4 November 12, 2003 Use a longer cable, yours are not long enough. Avoid the ruberband trick, as it can interfere with the release.---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
