diveout 0 #1 April 3, 2003 I'm interesting in getting my AD license (if still possible/ applicable). Is there anybody planning on being at the swoop festival who could administer the official test for me?
ramon 0 #2 April 7, 2003 If you go to Sebastian the Saturday or Sunday before I'm sure you could get it from Dave Brown or Mike Swanson. I'll be there hanging out and jumping.ramon "Revolution is an abrupt change in the form of misgovernment.", Ambrose Bierce.
diveout 0 #3 April 8, 2003 Yea, that would definitely work. What do you think my chances are of getting to take the test at the actual boogie on the beach? Anybody?
cheneyneel 0 #4 April 9, 2003 Well since the boggie is a week long I believe.28th to the 4th.. I know that Dave Brown will be competing that week.. I bet if you call him at the Freefly training Center and talk him into bringing a ball he might administer the test..(maybe) I am not sure if Swanson will be there but if you really want to take it over the beech boogie you might have to call him personally and offer him some sort of compensation along with the standard fee.. Dave is cool like that, and he (Might) do it...
diveout 0 #5 April 9, 2003 Of course! Pre-planning! I've heard of that! If I had my shit together I could even send 'em a video so they could see if I'm a flail or not..Hmm...
ramon 0 #6 April 14, 2003 Dave does like to do an eval jump first (this is so he knows what to expect from you in the sky during the test). ramon"Revolution is an abrupt change in the form of misgovernment.", Ambrose Bierce.

Is there anybody planning on being at the swoop festival who could administer the official test for me? I object to the continual reference to it as a "license" Because it is not universalized or recognized as a license outside of a very limited group of people. What exactly is it a license to do? To jump with the ball? Well you are jumping with the ball when you take the test. To ballmaster? The A is not a sufficient skill level to ballmaster for anyone else. Originally it was the qualifier for the space games. Now it is a very good skill test. A rating, sure, that's fine, but a license? don't make me laugh.
