Yes I will probably be using this for non-freefall use as well.

I think I am leaning towards the a6000. I didn't realize the a5100 only had the screen and no view finder.

I think the major issue is that RRS doesn't appear to have a bracket for the a5100 but they have one for the a6000. I used their clamps on my rebel xsi setup for a number of years and want to keep doing so.

i found a bracket on amazon that works perfectly with RRS mounts.

Looks to be a decent good RRS ripoff! All it needs is their logo, crooks!

thats the one. if you plan on using the side bracket (which can be removed) you will need to mill down a lot to make it convenient to get the card. also if you plan to use a silicone sleeve around the camera, that will also need to be trimmed.
