Basic settings GoPro 3+ settings

Just got it. Did a search and didn't come up with any results. Could someone point me in the right direction?

Perhaps I should have been more specific in my request so even an asshole skygod could understand what I was looking for some help with.
Got a new GoPro 3+ that I have never jumped with. I could use some help with the settings that work well in freefall. Taking it to a boogie this weekend and don't have a lot of time to experiment with it nor the equipment with to review the footage prior to returning home 10 days later.

Do a firmware update, 1080 wide 60 fps, I suggest you avoid super view.

For Freefly keep it mostly vertical, for belly, angle it backwards a little bit.

ProTune on if it's dark in my opinion.
Some might say always on, but I don't think it makes much difference in normal daylight.

I keep it on more to keep the other files from being written than anything else. I have no desire to clutter up my card with a shitty res copy and a thumbnail pic

I have a .bat file that deletes the .thm and .lrv files.
But I also built a "device" that can do the job when I'm not near a computer.
I just plug in the SDcard and push a button and it deletes the correct files.
It's annoying that you can't disable those files.

I do not think you should record at 60fps if then you are going to edit the video and render it at 30 fps.
Depending of the software you are using you could have ending with some annoying ghost effects

Never seen that happen because of 60->30 conversion but it has happened because of wrong other settings.

I have noticed that many Windows PCs have a hard time playing back the 60 fps files, smoothly. I run mine at 30 fps and have much better playback results.

With Sonyvegas I had some issues but I found what to do to get rid of them (thnks youtube tutorial)

Dont know of others who use these settings, but last season I shot 1080-30 wide video, with a photo every 5 seconds. Worked well and gave me some cool 12MP pics to go with it.
