DougH 270 #1 July 30, 2014 I am experiencing some issues with one of the 3+ cameras that I use for handicam. I am reaching out to GoPro but I thought I would run this by you folks as well to see if you have any thoughts. On random images the camera is taking stills with artifacts in the image. This is on the maximum photo size, haven't had a chance to try on a lower setting because I just noticed at the end of the day last weekend. It looks like vertical lines, almost like you ran it through a photoshop filter to be artistic. It doesn't happen on every image, and it happens on the ground, in the plane, and in freefall so it doesn't appear to be restricted to a specific lighting condition. I am using Sandisk ultra's since I am not recording video at HD. The memory card specs should be sufficient to should 14mb stills, they are class 10+. Any input would be great!"The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
sammielu 3 #2 July 30, 2014 A TI friend had similar issues. In that instance it was determined to be a software issue. Return it.
DougH 270 #3 July 30, 2014 That is what I was afraid of. Unfortunately I think Chuting Star won't return it, it is almost two months since I purchased it. So I am probably going to be stuck with the time frame of a GoPro warranty claim."The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
projectalarum 0 #4 July 30, 2014 This is digital artifacting, a physical defect/problem with the camera. GoPro will replace it, just open a ticket with them and explain the situation and they'll ask for a video or picture samples. Mine did the same but noticed it on video and they replaced it once they saw the video footage.
DougH 270 #5 July 30, 2014 I already started the process with them. How long did it take them to turn around a new camera? I use this thing every weekend!"The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
projectalarum 0 #6 August 12, 2014 I think all it took about 1 week and a half. I was without mine for two weekends basically. I ended up buying another and then took it back once I got mine back from GoPro.
