Stumpy 284 #1 September 2, 2013 Hey all, Is there any reason why these cams wouldn't work well for filming family etc? I have been thinking of getting one but also have a nipper on the way so would like to be able to use it for everything. And further, which ones would be better for this? I suppose better sound would be higher on the list than for a pure jumping cam?Never try to eat more than you can lift

I suppose better sound would be higher on the list than for a pure jumping cam? Problem is often too wide an angle, no zoom (well, i think one shouldn't use that anyway, at least not while filming) and lack of LCD-screen or viewfinder and sound quality. Depends on what you'd be using it for, gopro without housing works great for close up ground action (you meant home porn, right?)
johnmatrix 21 #3 September 5, 2013 No - they'll film shit, for sure. But for JUST family stuff, it'd be a better idea to get a 'normal' video camera IMO, so you can zoom and have some flexibility. Or get a DSLR. Problem is it's harder to mount a DSLR on your cat, for that a GoPro would be better.
Stumpy 284 #4 September 6, 2013 Hmmm good call on the DSLR - been thinking of upgrading anyway. What about a cat, in a shark suit, riding a roomba, chasing a duck? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UgjB8xccF6wNever try to eat more than you can lift
