No issues so far with the black during skydiving, snowboarding (including a big crash), bicycle, moterbike or at the front of my car upto 100km/hr.

Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habid.

Mine turned off randomly in freefall the other day. Battery backpack, 64GB card and latest firmware. *sigh*

same problem here. only with the backpack attached. without the pack it works

I've found that if you have "too many"* files on the card, the camera will only record about 20 seconds before it just stops. That's even with 40GB of free space and full battery.

* I have no idea what "too many" means but after emptying the card, everything was fine.

After the newest Firmware update I tried to clear my card using the in camera option to Delete all - it locked the camera up at that point and i had to remove the battery 5 minutes later to get it exit finally. Not all the bugs are fixed it seems...

I never do that, and I don't think you should have to.
Make a firmware that works. Thats it.

I have never formated my cards for my DSLR, and they are about 7 years old, and I have never had any problems.
I have even had other files on the card (zip, doc etc.) while using the camera.

Also, on my GoPro I have a file that removes all the thm and lrv files on the card.
Makes it so much easier to copy it to the computer. If I would format I would lose this file every time.

Can you share what this "file" is? Having the same issues with a Hero 2 recently switched to a class 10 card and firmware update.

Lots of blank files and re-arranging files making it a nightmare for the editor once there are 6 or 7 tandems on it.

Unzip it and place it in your GOPRO-folder, when you open it the file will delete all files that is LRV or THM files. (leaving you with JPEG and MP4)
