freak mechanical parts on my picture

Recommended Posts

Kai - I'd narrow it down by swapping out your body with the same lens, and then the verse.

Definitely looks like it could be either air, moisture, or dust causing the mirror to hesitate. Either one are distinct posibilities with your t1, with the lack of weather sealing that say a 7d has. especially with the humidity and conditions at Orange.

Just curious how far the lens extends into the camera body (I'm not familiar with that lens)? The theory of the mirror hanging up sounds right to me. The -S lenses made for canon cameras extend into the body and can't be used on say a 10D or 5D due to the mirror colliding. Just a random thought. I'm sure this lens is compatable but since it's an aftermarket....wonder how close the clearance is.

The pain of jumping in the rain sucks.

I don't even want to think about possible damage to my cameras![:/]

Based on the conditions, I doubt this is the case...

But I have seen similar effects when shooting too high of shutter speed in the studio, and the shutter basically is closing while the light is still exposing the image. Possible to do with a flash also, but doesn't look like the case here.
