Contour HD with wider lens

Recommended Posts

Does anybody have a contour with the xtremevu lens protector with the 43mm adaptor? Have you used a wider lens on it?

This is the lens I am looking at getting for my contour HD. Comes with a 37to43 adaptor also and not too badly priced.

The Raynox 5050 will work, only vingetting problem.

I have not used it with xvusas mount but i belive it will be the same result as with the contour mount.
I know it will suck, but i suggest you glue the lens to the lensmount.

You are correct that some lenses will not work, but the 5050 will work.
The Raynox 3030 will also work but you will have the same field of veiw as the 5050 but just more vingetting.
The Liquid lens is one of those that does not work. But i have heard and seen other (sony) cameras having problems with that lens too.

I used to have pictures of that but i deleted them a few weeks ago :|
Here is a video of a different 0.5x lens, cant remember the name of it.
But the Raynox lens is more wideangled and has better focus than this one.

I belive that we came to the conclusion that the Raynox 0.5 was about the same as a 0.3 of the lens in the video.
Looking at the video it does not seem like much difference, but with a Raynox there is a big difference.
