Royalty-Free Music for videos .. help pls

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have acouple hundred hours of video from Raeford NC in the mid 90's I'm working on editing it now in Sony Vegas and I'm looking for a Royalty-Free Music source if anyone has a decent one. I know I can through on whatever track to make it sound nice but I plan on uploading the videos to Youtube and they will disable the videos audio is its caught.

If anyone can help please post a link I read the forums 3 or 4 times a day.

and btw Thanks DSE I've learned so much about Sony Vegas through the stuff you put out there. I stopped jumping in 97 and am going to get back into it early this next year and your videos and posts are helping me get back up to speed. Kids are all gone now time to get my life back 8).

Thank you guys in advance,
Larry

My dropzone has bought tracks from http://www.stockmusic.net/. We bought a couple of whole collections, but you can listen to and buy individual tracks as well.

I have had similar success here. I've asked about 10 local musicians around town if I can use their music, and so far they have all said yes. I give them credit (with a photo as well) at the end of the videos. Many times the smaller musicians own their own music (not a production company) so you don't have to go through all the red tape to get access. Most of them are happy to get the exposure. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P-oxPBkfjhU

For youtube only stuff, you can try to search the song you are looking for on youtube, and see if they have an agreement with them. If they do, you will find the song with the link/ad to buy the music. If you use the song, it will just add the same advertisement/buy me link to your song. The risk is, if the agreement between the production companies and youtube goes bad...they can later zap your sound. From what I have read, that happened a few years ago with Warner and youtube and resulted in millions of videos with no sound.
My best friend is a 2pac fanatic (don't ask me why...i don't get it) but I added one of his songs to his tandem vid...and so far so good with the ad (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vdYTTpdtCN0

Here's what I use: http://incompetech.com/m/c/royalty-free/

Completely free... you just have to give credit to the artist (ie. "Music: Kevin MacLeod").

It's not the greatest for tandem videos, but it gets the job done for quick videos and I have used it for tandem videos too. Plenty of choices!

"I am a total newbie and just made my first jump. It was crazy. One of
the best experiences ever, next to giving birth!
I don't know anything about videos so I got my 15 year old cousin to
help me out.
He did let me chose the music and I got mine from http://www.jewelbeat.com/.
It was free. Hope the video turns out good. Cross my fingers.

Anyway I thought I'd chip in on where I got my music from and it is
royalty free from what it says on the website.
Good luck Swoopper. Thanks Dropzone. Just found Dropzone and I am
learning so much from here.

Sharon."

To download the royalty-free music and add them to the videos, you can go to SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/royalty-free-audio-loops and Jamendo: https://www.jamendo.com/start
there's a related section that tagged with MUSIC FOR VIDEOS on Jamendo.
By the way, not all tracks on SoundCloud are downloadable, here's the solution for it: http://www.videoconverterfactory.com/tips/how-to-download-off-soundcloud.html
