Recommended Posts

I have a mini dv tape i need to repair. I lost about a foot or so of the tape inside a camera. Is there some special scotch tape i can repair it with ?

Duck tape isn't an option either. I am searching for a local place to have it done since it looks like the tools to do it aren't real cheap either, and i'd prolly only use them one time anyways.

you'll likely not recover any of the data on the foot lost.
Radio Shack sometimes has splicing blocks and splice tape. For DV, you'll use a butt splice, not a diagonal splice.
Keep in mind, it's digital. Analog doesn't stripe data like digital does, so digital loss is much more catastrophic.
Now...get rid of that ancient tape cam and join the modern era.:P

i shoot a couple cx 100's now. I still have a nice hc-1 though but it collects dust.

The tape was a friends tape that i need to repair.

Thanks Spot!
