divekennene 0 #1 March 30, 2010 I have searched the forums and can't seem to find an answer to my question. I have a Mindwarp helmet and a CX150 camera. I plan on using the Cookie box for the camera but I would also like to use something like a Liquid Flatlock so I can remove the camera easily when I am not shooting video. Has anyone used or seen this type of setup and what type of adapter would I need? Also to note...I would prefer to sidemount the camera versus topmounting it. Thanks for any help on this. Do you have links to the different components?? I was wondering about the same issues since my Mindward currently has my sidemount Bonehead D BOX and PC-330 that is getting upgraded to the CX-150. I was really hoping to not have to buy one of the bracket things they have for mounting the camera up top.. or replacing the helmet with one of the silly looking blockhead look. divekennene 0 #3 March 31, 2010 I haven't purchased the Cookie box yet, but I plan on doing so in about a month. I will get the "side mount" box. I am just not sure what other "adapters" I will need to make it work with my Mindwarp. I really don't have the cash to get another helmet. What exactly do you mean by "links to the different components"?

I was just looking for the other items.. without having to search for what you were talking about. divekennene 0 #5 March 31, 2010 I was thinking about using a Flatlock so the camera is easily removable: http://cookiecomposites.com/shop/helmetaccessories/25/index.htm And I know this adapter probably wouldn't work, but something similar to adapt it to the Mindwarp helmet: http://cookiecomposites.com/shop/helmetaccessories/26/index.htm
pilotdave 0 #6 March 31, 2010 The flatlock is pretty thin, but it will still leave a nasty gap between the helmet and the box... perfect for snagging a line. If you're looking for a single-helmet solution, go with top mount. If you're more serious about video, get a real, dedicated camera helmet. If you want to sidemount, I highly recommend getting/modifying a helmet with no gap between the helmet and the box. I would not jump a mindwarp with a flatlock attached to the side holding a camera box. Dave
Shiv 0 #7 May 23, 2013 since reviving the old thread in the general forum didn't bring any new info i thought i give it a shot with the specialists... i am looking for a way to topmount a cookie flatlock on my mindwarp. Although i know that bonehead produces a universal flat top adapter i'd prefer to use one of cookies flatlock adapters to keep the camera lower but i have no clue which one could possibly fit. so i was hoping that someone on here could help me out. greets Shiv
LDiCosimo 0 #8 May 27, 2013 We've got a local that has made some carbon fiber enclosures for CX cameras top mounted on a mindwarp. I think he goes by skyjumpinfool on here. He may be willing to offer some advice on how to go about making one of your own. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1993216960947&set=t.1404817815&type=3&theater

I've tryed to make them as safe as possible while also being reliable and durable. I think the OP is looking for something a little different. Plus, the only people who can afford my helmets are very close friends who I don't charge for my service. ETA... Build a good camera helmet (purpose built) and have a second helmet for when you don't want to shoot video. It'll be just as cheap and easier when it's time to switch helmets.
