RAWA top mount video and stills

Recommended Posts

Anyone with a rawa using top mount for both video and stills?

I have a Rawa with a top mount for the new sony CX 100 (cx 105). Now im planning to buy a Canon Rebel (EOS) and want to mount both on top.

Any idea?? Should i top mount the stills and go with the video for the side mount??

Pics would help!;)

with that helment you probably want to mount the stills on the top and the video on the side...

although it's probably possible to figure something out... it wouldn't be nearly as safe as a dedicated top mount helmet such as a FTP or Vapor Wes Pro.

The problem is my video cam. Sony CX 100 (105)... i dont imagine this cam on the side :S

Why not? It's not a very wide camera... you might need to cut an opening in the side of the Box to allow space for the Hype-D connector but otherwise it's not a bad camera to side mount. In fact I don't think its much wider then my HC32 2.2in wide whereas the CX100 appears to be about 2.25in wide... I used to have my HC32 in a sidemount RAWA box,.. until I sold it before purchasing my FTP a few years ago.

I think there are even pictures in the post your camera helmet thread... :$

Top mounting is preferable for any camera (IMHO) but it is possible to side mount this camera.

They are sending out helmets with it side-mounted. We just received 6 of them. Rawa's top-mount CX100 box is different from its side-mount CX100 box. And the helmets come HypEye D Pro ready with holes for the button and plug-in cable.

I'll have photos up on my site of the side-mount version sometime tomorrow.

Take care,
