Factory Diver as Camera Helmet

Recommended Posts

Im thinking more along the lines of mounting a HC3/5/7/9 to the factory diver.

The sidewinder IS a Factory Diver with a Flip face and Camera box

That is being a little picky I might say considering that you did not state any specific camera. You just initially asked if it was out there. and I provided a link for the Camera Version that Skysystems makes for the Factor Diver... The HC series is pretty wide and your likely to be looking at a top mount anyway. You can piece one together like what cookie notes with a box and a mount or even just a mount which is common. The advantage is that you can take it off and not have the extra stuff up top for jumps with out a camera. If your going to plan to do video when you have more jumps (unless your profile is not updated) and want the fullface why not look at a top mount FTN or FTP or even the Wes line through Skysystems.. A use specific helmet with room to grow as you start doing more...

Sometimes it is better to have a separate helmet anyway for what you want to do. But that is from me with 4 different helmets...

I am thinking that I would like to get a full face but I would also like to some day use what ever new helmet I get for camera as well. I really like the idea of full face in general and I like the fit of the factory diver. I might just get one and just hope that mounting an HC series to it works ok when I try this winter or next season.

The pics.
As can be seen from the frontview and mount_plate, the Flatlock helmet adaptor is not for this sized helment. The idea behind this is that I can finetune the camera tilt.
The rectangle in the visor is the camera field of view at approx 1.2 meters (~4 feet).
In the (out-of-focus) backview, the Cameye setup can be seen. When not jumping with the camera, I just pull the connector back inside the helmet. The hole is large enough to get the connector through.
As the optics are not in the middle of the camera (sideways), the mount setup is a bit to the right in order to have the optics in the centre line of the helmet.

looks good petri. I like the setup. I will probably do something similar. Looks like I'm waiting till next season to get a camera but I will most definitely be picking up a factory diver soon, and now I feel comfortable that I will be able to turn it into a camera helmet if I still desire to do so. thanks all for the info.
