Forgive me if I appear whuffo like in regards to freefall photgraphy but is the altimeter actually a part of the assembly or just found its way on your helmet for the photo. If it is on the build, what is its purpose.

I can only guess its so people hamming it up for the cam don't forget what altitude they are at. Is this right?

Thanks! Yours curiously... Scoop :P

correct Scoop
and correct again gadget...:)I had room on the helmet,
I had a second altimeter,
I had some time..
I had an idea
That very alt. now rides on the wrist of a good friend,
who gets it "to altitude" more often than me, lately...[:/]
That helps keep it in good working order;)..
I shoot video on most all of my jumps and many of those are RW dives...
Many of my pals tend to stick around after seperation,, and so the Alti was there to scare 'em off...:oB|

Sony PC 7 (broke it - riser slap)
Sony TRV 22 (firewire quit working)
Sony HC 20 (LCD quit working)
Sony HC 20 (back up)
Sony HC 40 (main video camera)
Canon digital Rebel (broke it by getting kicked on exit)
Canon Digital Rebel (Main still)

I still have one HC 20, HC 40, and one digital Rebel
So, you still want to jump video/camera, eh?
