freefalle 0 #1 March 10, 2005 So, I broke down and bought a flash (thanks Lew) it should be here in a couple of days. Can someone give me some advise on a baseline of settings for flash photos? I'll be using it with both my digital and 35 mm rebel. I know alot of learning comes from trial and error but I'd at least like some basic information as to where to start. Thanks in advance
vdschoor 0 #2 March 11, 2005 For me, I just set up my camera as usual, and then connect the flash. Set it to high speed sync (so it syncs at 1/500th or whatever high shutterspeed you set) and off I go. This works for me, and this is how it was explained to me. If your camera sync speed is higher (I have the digital rebel) like on the 20D I've heard people using the flash just like that, since the sync speed is already at 1/250th or something like that. velocityphoto 0 #3 March 11, 2005 The sync speed on that camera is 200th if you shoot auto ,but you can shoot it high speed sync on the flash unit and choose your shutter settings on the camera in shutter priority. Good luck Lonnie A friend will bail you out of jail , a REAL friend will be sitting next to you in the cell slapping your hand saying "DUDE THAT WAS AWSUM " ................
