freefalle 0 #3 February 21, 2005 We always jump at 15000 ft and my dropzone and MANY loads go up to 18000 ft. Ive never had a problem with my pc100, or my trv-38 both my 35 mm and my digital still work fine at alt. too
quade 3 #4 February 22, 2005 The altitude itself shouldn't be a huge issue. I've done quite a few oxygen altitude big-ways and the altitude in and of itself is almost never the issue. Other local conditions such as -humidity- might be. What can happen is the camera can get chilled at high altitude and as you fall through warmer, humid levels moisture can condense on the internal parts of the lens. This is usually not too big of an issue at south western desert drop zones like Perris, Elsinore or Eloy, but can be a daily occurance at southern drop zones like Lake Wales. Of course, you don't need to get up into the oxygen required levels to do this, but it does make it more likely to happen as you'll have longer for the camera to become chilled both before and after exit.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
