Teixido 0 #1 December 20, 2004 I am looking to buy my first videocamera. Someone at our dropzone has a Sony PC 6 (2002 model) for sale that has not been used much. I have some experience with a Sony PC 9 and like it. If I am correct de PC 6 is basically a stripped down version of the PC 9? I know the PC 6 does not have DV-in and a memorystick that doesn’t bother me that much. But would the PC 6 have the same video quality (resolution) as the PC 9? pope 0 #2 December 20, 2004 I've never heard of a PC-6. Are you certain it's not just a PC 9 turned upside-down??

gus 1 #4 December 20, 2004 I have a PC9 and several friends with PC6s that I've looked at. As far as I can tell they are identical apart from, like you said, the PC6 has no memory stick or DV-in facility. QuoteBut would the PC 6 have the same video quality (resolution) as the PC 9? I would bet that the lense and the recording innards are exactly the same. GusOutpatientsOnline.com
speedy 0 #5 December 20, 2004 The PC-6 has no memory stick and no DV-in, although my PC6 does have DV-in because a friend hacked it for me.The PC 8 is the same as a PC-6 but is DV-in enabled. The PC-9 is the same as the PC-8, but has a memory stick for still pictures. The video quality as far as I know is identical. Having DV-in is really useful when you want to archive mixed videos from you computer back to the camera. It's also useful for copying stuff from your friends camera at the DZ.
