Somebody tried Sony's DCR IP45 or 55 yet ?

Recommended Posts

I've put a couple of jumps on a friends IP55 and found it to be amazingly lightweight. The features were nice, easy to use, and the Image quality was good on the camera's screen. I have not edited anything, or seen how dificult it is to work with the different recording format. If you intend to use the footage you shoot for something other than straight playback, I'd look into this.

DaGimp jumps one.. He had it at WFFC, it looked pretty neat. He was able to transfer video to the TRV/PC users but only via S-Video; I guess that doesn't matter if the final destination is VHS though... You might PM him about it when gets back from Rantoul...

so light, so small, but none uses them. huh that's strange.
I guess sony should enable data transfer between micro mv and mini dv...

That's because their configuration really sucks for skydiving.
The buttons are not well located for all mounting systems.
The switch to put it in VCR/Camera mode are soft, rather than hard - no ergonomic feedback, and no LANC port for a visual indicator of mode.

The native format is also compressed, which means a slight loss of video quality.
