you forgot
"when in doubt add another rotation."
.
.
When it comes to choosing a canopy, remember that you are a grown ass man, make your own decision, life is too short being told what to do. That goes for when you sell your canopy to a newbie as well. Got money??? You've got my canopy.

Dont turn yourself into the ground and keep head on swivel. Watch for other canopy's
Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!

i was told last weekend something that made me decide to put my new canopy in the closet for a while and stick with what i got.......
(its ok i have it and its not going anywhere)

its not when everything goes right that youre gonna get fucked up, its when anything and everything goes WRONG>...

low pull, shifty winds, landing WAY off the DZ on hilly terrain downwind, etc. etc.
gravity brings me down.........

You just heard that last week?

Either way, it goes for way more than just your main. Same thing when picking a reserve. Same thing when choosing a pull altitude. Same thing when planning a skydive.

Hope for the best, but plan for the worst.

...and the Lord spake, saying

"First shalt thou open thy parachute,
When thou seekest to land thyself
then shalt thou do three hook turns,
no more, no less.
Three shall be the number of hook turns thou shalt do,
and the number of the hook turns shall be three.
Four hook turns shalt thou not do, neither hook turn thou twice,
excepting that thou then proceed to three hook turns.
Five hook turns is right out.
Once the hook turns are three, being the third hook turn,
then prepare thou thy most precious face and sacred body to meet earth,
and thus since thou art being naughty in my sight,
I shall snuff you deep into the ground for all to see,
and behold my wonderous power."

Advice before my third jump:
"Flare when things look normal"
"Any language where the unassuming word fly signifies an annoying insect, a means of travel, and a critical part of a gentleman's apparel is clearly asking to be mangled."

If you were too high on the last run, add a 360

Swoopers always have the right of way

Never give up the gates

I have been jumping for a long time, though not much and not often. I had learned to listen to the voice in my head... When I gently pull down and hold the front riser for the final turn, there is usually a voice in my head saying: "Just a little bit more..!" I had learned that that is, actually, just the perfect time to let go of the riser.
