Calvin19 0 #1 November 7, 2010 fun times flying acro at 16000'. This is me in a dirty SAT* (dirty because I was using a skydive harness not a PG harness that allows better weight shift and much better wing control) taken to the AOA limit of the wing and into an accelerated stall/high speed spin. wing is a 12m (125'^2) OZONE bullet. Truly elliptical with center cell cross bracing. Extremely efficient in energy retention and glide, very limited diver performance, made for medium speed mountain speed flying. Doing this with smaller gliders gets scary, the 12 is a good safe one. *basically an intentional under control "spinner", the pilot is flying backwards [sideways on such a small paraglider], pilot and canopy orbiting the CG point AND axis of rotation on opposite sides, different from a spiral dive where the pilot and canopy are moving the same direction. A lot of small canopy spinning malfunctions have SAT characteristics. http://vimeo.com/16226960 -SPACE-
