The original question is definitely loaded, and i know what you mean - you probably got the op's agenda correctly summed up, but... there is NOTHING wrong with using a Competition Velocity for any of that if you can easily afford it. You have to be smart and use the right lineset, but overall it's a great wing with improved flight characteristics over the original - so why not get it as an everyday canopy?? Nobody would think that the equipment is what makes it all happen, and that the 300 lineset and RDS are what you need for every jump.
