Texas training swoop camps

Feb 23-24 is Camp #1 at SD Spaceland. A group of TX swoopers are getting together to train over Spaceland's pond. This is not a coaching session specifically from anybody, its a chance for swoopers to get together, take over some loads and have fun together. Everyone will be helping everyone else learn and train. There will be video and we will go over the video at the end of the day with everyone over a few beers. All the swoopers will be helping debrief each other's swoops. We may not have a full course setup, but we'll atleast have some gates.

Camp #2 is scheduled for March 29-30. Same sort of setup and expectations.

The point is to get together, swoop, have a good time and learn. It doesn't hurt that its at the DZ that is going to hold the 2009 USPA nationals either.
Later camp dates have not been set yet, but we're shooting for once a month. They may coincide with some CPC dates as well once the TX CPC schedule and locations are announced.

Who do you have doing your ground video?? I would love to come watch/help with vid and pics. If kim wants to jump down there we might go.

Last time Haylee setup a stationary video at an angle at the end of the course to shoot video while she took some still photos. If you wanted to come join us and help that would be great!

I only have a pelican case FULL of gear i don't use anymore. I could shoot approaches/setups and turns too. Ian taught me how on one cold ass december day in Dallas.

That would be great! Of course we'll have to make sure you have cold Shiner for you to enjoy at the end of the day.

I would like to try and show up and have some fun with you guys. I am an old gold coast swooper who has recently moved to the clear lake area. I am coming out to spaceland to jump this weekend and it will be my first visit back there in several years. It sounds like a lot of fun so I will try to be there.

cool. Will do. I had a great time sat while at spacland. Really cool people there. so I am looking forward to meeting some of the local swoopers there also.
