tintin19 0 #1 July 12, 2012 Hi There, I've been getting problems all day (I'm in Oz) with pop us ads on the site. They are overlaying the page and making all links on the page inoperable. I'm getting the same issue on Basejumper.com as well. I've attached a screen shot. I've rebooted my laptop, restarted the browser and still not managed to fix it. I can refresh some of the pages a few times and end up with an ad that stays at the top, but a couple of pages are unreadable and won't refresh out of the problem. Cheers

Meso 38 #4 July 12, 2012 Seems that there was a vertical ad placed in the horizontal ad space, which is causing it to go over the text. Apologies about this. I will contact the ad department now and ask them to rectify the issue.
SkyPiggie 0 #5 July 12, 2012 Click "Tools", "Internet Options", "Privacy", checkmark "Turn on pop-up blocker".

tintin19 0 #7 July 12, 2012 Yep, the ad department failed to rectify the problem. On the upside the site took a few extra advertising cents from me trying to avoid the vertical Travelex advert and failing repeatedly :)
strife 0 #8 July 12, 2012 first world problem but bloody annoying the blocking pops doesnt work on google or chrome because its not really a pop up is it?
Meso 38 #9 July 13, 2012 I contacted them and alerted them as to the issue and they said they would get back to me as soon as possible, I still haven't heard back, but if I don't hear anything in the next few hours I will send off another e-mail . And nah it's not a pop-up, it seems someone involved with placing the ads into the correct categories accidentally placed a skyscraper ad into the horizontal header space. strop45 0 #11 July 14, 2012 Quotechrome adblocker extension works for now Cheers +1, happy to have the ads while they work easily and don't use most of the screen. strife 0 #12 July 14, 2012 agree about the ads bringing money to the site Im quite surprised the anecdotal increase in speed of rendering Im seeing since running adblocker as well
tintin19 0 #13 July 16, 2012 Still happening. The offending ads seem to be 1. ING Direct 2. KOMLI 3. Travelex Can you tell them Basejumper.com has the same issue with the same ads, please! :)
nigel99 143 #14 July 16, 2012 I'm also getting the ads. Often makes it impossible to read the first 2 or 3 posts in a thread. Fingers crossed it gets sorted soon.Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

Meso 38 #17 July 19, 2012 Hey guys, I've been in talks back and forth with the people in charge of the ads, after they failed to fix the issue the other day I removed the header ads completely to prevent the issue. I have put it back today, so if you see the issue again - please screen shot and attach to this thread so I can remove them again and try get them to fix it again.
