"Check Spelling" Box Error.

Recommended Posts

I'm not dependent on it and I usually only use it for a word here and there. But, if you forget that it's not working and you hit that button it's too late to stop it from crashing IE. If it's not going to be working, the link should be deleted until it does work.

Not replying to you per se, just to the general complaints about the error...

Keep a fucking dictionary next to your keyboard, or if you have MS Word, type your posts in there first, spell check it there, then cut and paste in here.

;)

Yeah, it's more work, or you can just say to hell with spell check and post as you want to, or be like me and almost never need spell check. :P:D

I see your point, Billy. I've always thought if a person didn't know how to spell a particular word then they had not earned the privilege of using it in conversation.

YMMV.:P;):D:D:D

I am sure there is a reason why this problem is not fixed yet.
I just would like to know why, or if anything, is it being worked on.
I can not spell worth a crap, and I really like this feature, it has been months since I have been able to use it. tried it tonight, same old shit. shuts it all down.

it has been quite a learning experiance though, I find myself responding to somthing I see in a thread, type my response, then delete it because I CAN NOT SPELL!!!!!:S

Still an issue with IE8. Most IE8 errors only crash the active window, this still takes the whole browser session out. [:/]

If the underline can't be turned off, can the whole spell check just be totally disabled or give users the option to disable spellcheck if they choose?

It's been years since I could use the spell checker with IE. Just to add on, it does not work with Windows 7 and IE 8, winxp ie6, winxp ie7, winxp ie8 on 3 or 4 different machines over the past few years. I forget about it because I use Firefox sometimes and it does work there.
