Malfunction 0 #1 June 30, 2004 Anyone know anything about the date stamp on email? I received an email today at 4:47 PM CST, but it showed as 21:47... and it is hardly that late... Clues, hints? I may disagree with what you have to say, but I shall defend to the death your right to say it. - Voltaire
indyz 1 #2 July 1, 2004 The time is right for somebody, somewhere in the world (Berlin and Prague are both 7 hours ahead of CDT). Remember, this is an international website. The system clock might not be set for your local time. Although it doesn't quite make sense, as I would expect the server to be on UTC (standard timezone), which is five hours ahead of CDT, not the seven hours that you are seeing. Also, the date isn't necessarily the time that the email was received by the server. I constantly get email that is dated decades in the future or years in the past by spammers or just inept users who forget to adjust their computer's clock.
