How to do a diving exit from a C 182?

Recommended Posts

Thanks so much for the heads-ups. Rover didn't want to be offensive, I know now.
I will look if I may do tandems again. Thank the Lord it's only a hobby not my job. But the extra bucks came in handy for things such as electrolysis and the thousands of extra miles to drive to therapy, specialists etc pp.
I won't make my happiness dependent on the fact if I am allowed to do tandems or not. It would be nice to reach tandem jump #500 or at least do one or two "final" jump to consciously say "Good-bye" to tandem jumping.
I'll keep you posted!

Hugs, Hannah

I wish you the best of luck Hannah.

Funny things happen when personal values about equality meet with a business owners personal value for dollars.

As a student I would have had no problem with a transgender tandem instructor. And based on my reading of many of my students I think that would be the norm.

I do occasionally get young macho men who want to jump with a female instructor because they don't want to be "hooked up to some guys package", but they are far from the norm. Those are also the student who aren't scared, not nervous, and swim kick fight the exit, and so on.

Those students are a pain in the ass, and they would be a pain in the ass if they were hooked up to the most beautiful female instructor, a bald middle aged man, or yourself.

It is too bad none of the dzo's can just be honest to your face and off the record, they are worrying that you will make customers uncomfortable and that it will create negative word of mouth.

But I am not a DZO faced with that choice. It is easy to arm chair quarterback on the interwebz. I would be happy to work with you, but I might bitch about you being too tall for the 182 and taking up too much room. Midgets like me a much better fit for 182 drogue chucking. :D

Dear DougH,

thanks for your good wishes.
Yes, I know those macho students. Big-mouthed and making misogynist, sexist and even homophobic remarks. ("Transgender" is usually out of their mind's reach...) I have always rejected such remarks and told them to please stop it. Funny thing: These big-mouths usually get very shy and almost mute when it comes to exiting. They are a nuisance to any instructor, indeed.

I think that's the bottom line.

Well, I'll just see how things are going to develop. I won't beg nor sue. If they don't want to let me jump, so be it. I've got much more important biz to do :PB|:)

Agreed!
... and I am a tall, bearded, heterosexual, male TI.
We used to pawn those macho @$$holes off on our only female TI. Fortunately, our female TIs were better than most male TIs.
