neandertal 0 #26 October 19, 2010 Quote All that said, I'm raising my prices next year, though probably to $75 for hand cam video with GoPro stills. Then maybe $45 or $50 for stills only. Isn't technology fun!? Martin You know your market and competition better then I do, but $75 for video and pictures is still very cheap. We are now selling our spec pictures for $99 x $89 prepaid. Sure we will let it go for $89, just to be nice... No Drogue, no JUMP!!
BobMoore 0 #27 October 20, 2010 QuoteThat reminds me of a scam run by a (now defunct) DZ in Alberta. Shortly before Christmas, they would phone "next of kin" and offer to sell them video and still photos of their "dear little Johnny" skydiving. The DZ turned such a HUGE profit - from photo sales - that they no longer cared about DZ operating costs and offered $49 (IAD) first jump courses. Even during the 1990s, it cost most other DZs $149 - or more - to run FJC. Thank God Transport Canada ran that DZO out of business! What's the scam?"For you see, an airplane is an airplane. A landing area is a landing area. But a dropzone... a dropzone is the people."

What's the scam? ......................................................................... 1. Contacting "next of kin" as a marketing ploy. "Next of kin" should ONLY be contacted after an injury or death. 2. Their ridiculously low prices - for first jump courses - almost forced several other Alberta DZs into bankruptsy.
