Fall rate in tunnel VS Free Fall

I noticed that my speed in the tunnel was about 10-15 mph higher in the tunnel than what I record on my Viso. Do the speeds normally vary that much? Also, the tunnel was app 4500 feet higher altitude, does that have an effect? I am trying to get the most transfer of what I learned in the tunnel to what I do in the sky.

You are more streamlined without the rig. But true - you are also lighter.

Also: higher altitude = thinner air = higher airspeed.

Thanks, that makes sense. It also occurred to me that I was learning Mantis and had a different body position and arch.
