IBA 0 #1 January 19, 2012 IBA INDOOR SKYDIVING COMPETITION TOUR GETS UNDERWAY The International Bodyflight Association is pleased to announce the first annual IBA Indoor Skydiving Competition Tour. It will kick off with the first tour stop at the iFLY Hollywood wind tunnel on Saturday, February 25th, 2012, and continue on to iFLY SF Bay, iFLY Orlando, iFLY Dubai, iFLY Seattle, SkyVenture Montréal and Airkix in the UK, with more dates and locations to be added. About the Competition The IBA will host the five major skydiving freefall disciplines indoors, each with competitions for various classes: • 4-way Formation Skydiving (FS): Open, Intermediate, Rookie Class • 4-way Vertical Formation Skydiving (VFS): Open • 2-way Freefly (FF): Open • 2-way Vertical Formation Skydiving (2-Way VFS): Open, Intermediate, Rookie Class (note: iFLY HWD & iFLY Dubai will also have “Advanced”) • Neo-Freestyle (a solo performance combining Freefly and Freestyle): Open Judging will be done by renowned competitors and some artistic events will be judged by viewers on the IBA facebook page. Prizes will include free tunnel time as well as cool wind-tunnel gear. Who Can Compete? We encourage all flyers of all skill levels to participate. Competitors need to be signed off by the IBA on the transitions required for the class in which they are competing, but local wind-tunnels will be more than happy to suggest events and coaching programs to participate in to get competitors ready. Tournament participants will get special training time and coaching to spark that competitive spirit. There will be coaching nights with world-class flyers at special rates to dial in the flying for the competition (some restrictions may apply). How to Register Competitors can register by calling the wind-tunnels once registration is open 45 days before the competition. Currently, registration is open for the iFLY Hollywood competition.
