Jari Kuosma was doing exactly this in the Helsinki (Finland) horizontal wind tunnel a LONG time ago. There is video of it somewhere on here. He was laying at about a 45 degree angle secured to a stand. This was when he was testing the original SkyFlyer.

we also have a couple of research tunnels around here in Switz for "human sized stuff", where the skiers are tested etc...

no access to "car manufacturers" tunnels ?

mmmm thanks you just reminded me of the liquid test done on some F1 cars. They get airflow indication from blowing coloured liquid over the surfaces. might be usable I'll have a go with my leaf blower.

Its the exit that concerns me most. You've had some experience with unusual exits yeah?
I've been trying to access info about skyray exits but have come up a bit blank.
Haven't been able to get any footage of their exits which would be helpful in analysing exit techniques.
From what I can gather their systematic approach kept them accident free.

Big steps to jump this from a hobby to a passtime.

from seeing a lot of Yves Rossy's work, his best exits are from helicopter or balloon, backlooping the exit

Aparently you can test in the Univeristy of Washington horizontal tunnel.
