bomb420 1 #1 September 11, 2009 I just got these Shure SE115 earphones for tunnel flying and they rock. They have this 3M type earplug compression foam that blocks out external tunnel noise and all you hear is the music. I totally would NOT suggest these for coaching (hearing your instructor or student) or in the air (hearing your ditter), but for Huck Jams they rock. Anyone else find a good set?HYPOXIC
NeedToJump 0 #2 September 11, 2009 ER6i by Etymotic Research are fantastic. I use them just as ear plugs at times when I don't want music. When I want music, the sound quality is fantastic. http://www.amazon.com/Etymotic-Research-Isolator-Earphones-Black/dp/B000BQSGMM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1252638270&sr=8-1Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com
Itchy 0 #3 September 11, 2009 I personally like skull candy, the only problem i have ran into with them is they die after a while... hey Ari, whats the best type of MP3 player for the tunnel, i'm looking for one that doesn't fly away... lmaoLife is all about experiences... NeedToJump 0 #4 September 11, 2009 I love the Sansa Clip http://www.amazon.com/Sandisk-Sansa-Clip-Player-Black/dp/B001H9O6QW/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1252670151&sr=8-2 It's better sound quality than the Shuffle, supports more formats and has a small lcd and more features. It's also less expensive. The 1GB one is less than $30 which is great if you loose it, or if it decides it needs some solo tunnel time. fedykin 0 #6 September 13, 2009 ive used ultimate ears for ages, a bit of a tight fit with a full face, but still brilliant sound quality. my judgement is fairly poor so im splashing out for custom monitors, no way they can slip out + studio level sound. check em out... http://www.ultimateears.com/_ultimateears/store/custom/ue4pro.php
Jewels 0 #7 September 13, 2009 I'll second you on the Shures. I've had a couple of different pairs and they're both excellent.TPM Sister #

Even use them when I happen to travel with friends so I can listen to my iPod not them snoring. Tolgak 0 #12 September 16, 2009 I haven't yet been in a tunnel, but I've jumped my Skullcandy Full Metal Jacket and heard everything quite clearly, even with a helmet full of holes. They come with earplug tips that get a good seal and don't fall out. I got them for about $35 but they had a special at the time. I'm sure if you shop around, you can find a similar price. Also, if you break them for any reason, they let you rebuy at 50% off. http://www.skullcandy.com/shop/full-metal-jacket-p-121.html For the record, music has not been a distraction to me during freefall. It just makes the experience a whole lot better. Even if you don't jump with them, they're good for the ride up and the earplug tips will help keep it nice and quiet.Dropzones are terrible places for inspiration. What does one think when one looks up for a sign only to see a bunch of people falling?
HWalter 0 #13 September 16, 2009 I use the shure e3c with foam earplugs and a fullface helmet, totally cancels out the background noise. Would I ever do such a nasty thing as using them for wingsuiting?
Casurf1978 0 #14 September 16, 2009 Check out Ultimate Ears. I've owned both Shure and UE and find the latter to be a better value since the cables are replaceable. I had a pair of Shures and one of the cables was damaged, pretty much had to throw the pair away.
