tunnelfly 0 #1 October 14, 2008 I knew about it for a while now, but just discovered they actually have a website running... www.aerotruba.ru Test flying of the tunnel has started, but it might take a while until official opening (I heard the building construction is far from finished). Design similar to Bedford, size about Eloy. No.1 reason NOT to be an astronaut: ...You can't drink beer at zero gravity...
tdog 0 #2 October 15, 2008 QuoteDesign similar to Bedford, size about Eloy. So simular that they use photos of the Bedford tunnel in their "media" section? http://www.aerotruba.ru/en/media.htm
BMFin 0 #3 October 15, 2008 the whole site is pretty funny Why do they actually call it air dynamic pipe ? rahter than wind tunnel ? The english seems as lame as if it was translated by google translator. Though funnily enough if you actually translate the site by google, the translation will be wind tunnel rather than air dynamic pipe From the russian version I could see that it is 4.1 meters in diameter. tunnelfly 0 #4 October 15, 2008 Quote So simular that they use photos of the Bedford tunnel in their "media" section? It seems the website has been running before they actually started construction. Didn't almost every new tunnel promote itself with pictures and videos of other tunnels, before it has been finished? I've received some pictures of the testing, and it looks like it's going to be a top notch tunnel. Especially the spectators area, situated one level above, is much more inviting than in Bedford. I'll post some of the pics, if my source agrees... No.1 reason NOT to be an astronaut: ...You can't drink beer at zero gravity...

There plenty of pics in Russian page of the site http://www.aerotruba.ru/chronicle.htm And seems that should be web cams: http://www.aerotruba.ru/building_site.htmWhy drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly?
