What is the worlds best wind tunnel

Recommended Posts

The worlds best wind tunnel is the one next door to your home, where they know you well and, even on a fully booked day, you can just show up after work and they manage to squeeze you in for a couple of rotations. B|

But if you are just talking about size, speed, smoothness and convenience, you probably have to go to bedford.

I've flown some in 5 of the 8 tunnels listed... another one I will have flown within the next month or so..

I agree with Tunnefly... the BEST tunnel is near your home and considers you part of the family.

I don't think there is a fair way to answer this poll... because BEST is a subjective thing.. like beauty is in the eye of the beholder... it really matters what you are looking at..

each of these listed is the worlds best wind tunnel, each brings JOY to others lives, each makes it possible to expand our minds, each are inviting to their home crowd and each serve us dutifully.

Since I can't choose multiple answers, there isn't a fair way for me to give my opinion.

Good luck on your quest... try them out.. you be the judge!

How can you choose just one?!?!?! I love every tunnel I have visited (& fly at regularly) but I'm strange in that regard.

They all have the "best" something. The fun part is finding out all those something's for each place.

What's is the world's best wind tunnel?
The one:

you call home

you fly the most

who's staff you know & help you out

closest to you

you have the most fun at

you visit and fall in love with

Guess that would be difficult to say unless someone had flown in all the tunnels listed.

We're working on it, dammit! :P I've only flown two tunnels, but I would say that the "best" one is where you learn the most and have the most fun. The difference is really getting a dedicated coach - training with a good coach in any tunnel will get you more learning and better overall experience than training in any other tunnel without a coach. Also helps to go with friends that you know for fun.

And I didn't answer your poll because I haven't been to all the tunnels.
