Eurisko 0 #1 May 24, 2004 Does anyone know of a wind tunnel in the UK. I've looked around the net but all the results come up for the US. Thanks----- Nick
supafly 0 #2 May 25, 2004 I'm not entirely sure, but I don't think there is a tunnel open for skydivers yet in the UK. The following two sites have been referenced in other threads as two (hopefully) upcoming possibilities... http://www.skyventure.co.uk/skyventure.html?/latest_information.html http://www.extremebodyflight.co.uk/Arizona Drive 4-Way VFS - www.DriveVFS.com

Malev 0 #4 May 25, 2004 QuoteDoes anyone know of a wind tunnel in the UK. There are currently no wind tunnels in the UK, although as supafly pointed out there are two currently under constuction. The nearest is Aerokart in Paris, however it is quite expensive. If you are wanting to do any extended time, you are probably better going to one of the SkyVenture tunnels in Orlando or Perris. The amount you save in the tunnel will probably make up for the cost of flights!
skaterboi 0 #5 November 11, 2004 Good news - it got an email from the CEO of SKVENTURE upon asking about the LOndon tunnel progress. He said that he can confirm that the investment criteria has been met and they started 2 weeks ago with the component constrcution!!!!! he said they will be operational late july/aug05!!!! ~ times is * time was * times past ~
xavenger 0 #6 November 11, 2004 WE WILL HAVE AN EXCELLENT UK TUNNEL SOON! Skyventure UK Plc have completed their fundraising (although there are a few more days open to invest if you want to) and expect that the UK wind tunnel will be up and running at the Xscape centre outside Milton Keynes in the second half of next year. Unlike other tunnel ventures being discussed in the UK - the Skyventure tunnel is PURPOSE built from the ground up for tunnel flying and skydive training. It will be smart place to train and is well situated. The tunnel will recirculate air so that its comfortable to work in during our cold winter months.
