Tandem Rating

Recommended Posts

How about simlifying it:
a. Hold a D License or Equiv.
b. 1000 jumps
c. 3 Years from the date that you earned your A License.
d. Hold a Instructional Rating

End of Controversy..Meet the above and the T I/E MAY allow you to take his course..
Remember maturity can not be measured and unfortunately some do not have enough to be trusted with someone elses life, regardless of the above criteria.

Not sure how I feel about the 1000 jump requirement but I do think it should specify 3 years from A license.

My last post in 2008!!!!

Is it really that stupid? I think the interpretation of the rules, when they are ambiguous, is up to the IE.

I've seen an IE let people get away with having done a tandem three years ago for the three year requirement, and I've seen the same IE make it very hard for another guy with many more years in the sport to get his rating. His decision was based on what he knew of the two skydivers.

If we can't trust the IEs to make good decisions, we are already fucked.

Most guys who had 500 jumps back then started on military surplus round parachutes and learned the hard way about hard pulls, spotting, walking back from bad spots

Barefoot, kneedeep in snow and always, always uphill? :P:P:)
Edited to ask: When does 2009 start on the internet?
Anyway - happy new year everyone...
