Would it be possible to give the DB Cooper nuts their own forum?

Seriously, this has gone on way beyond too far. Day after day, month after month, year after year. Enough already.

Let us have the Skydiving history and trivia forum back.

Please.

I would guess looking at the number of views to that thread that DZ makes some amount of money from the ads. And not everyone who posts to that thread is a nut.

There is also something else. Between the original Cooper thread, and the one currently going, these threads contain tens of thousands of pages of information on a case that History Channel once called, 'The sixth biggest unsolved crime of the 20th century'. The database contains virtually everything known about the only unsolved skyjacking in US history...and that thread is linked out to hundreds of other places all over the planet. I would guess there would be a marked decline in ad revenue for DZ if the thread were changed or removed. Maybe a lot, who knows?

It is also generally recognized as the premier source of research information on the case...worldwide. :)
Just saying.

Some of the other threads at DZ change all the time, especially Speakers' Corner, etc. It is easy to go around the Cooper thread.

Thanks for making my case to give you your own forum.
I have no problem with that.

If you are talking about a separate forum with just the name 'D.B. Cooper' attached to it...I have to agree. This would preserve all data contained with it and make it easier for interested folk to find at Dropzone. You simply move it.

Look...it is just my opinion, but that database and the hits it generates worldwide, is probably good for the site as a whole. Views are approaching the four million mark. If you own a website, you WANT that. :)

I'd agree with a separate forum for this topic. I've noticed some long threads take a while to load up.

I quit keeping up with the DB Cooper thread a couple years back.

***these threads contain tens of thousands of pages of information

Tens of thousands of pages of blather which can be distilled to about half a page of actual, usable facts.:S

Not true. For example, there are the posts by 'Ckret,' the Seattle FBI agent Larry Carr who was once the case agent for the Cooper case.

There are also the thousands of posted maps, images, links to information on the case. Like all internet forums, there is also some garbage.

I agree with the idea of setting up its own thread. Easier to find and navigate. But when you look at the number of visitors to that thread (approaching four million visits) then you have to consider the possible Google Ad revenue from that. It's probably fairly steady, and a good amount. And good for Dropzone. Costs money to keep sites like this running.

Loads of blather, speculation and circumstantial evidence.

You don't even have positive, irrefutable proof that anyone actually jumped from the plane.

Plane was searched in Reno when it landed. In every spot that is even remotely accessible to a human being. Missing from aircraft: Two parachutes, one man, a briefcase, and $200,000 belonging to SeaFirst Bank.

Here you are calling for the moving of the thread, how tired people are of it, etc...and you pose a Cooper-related comment. Should go on the other thread. :)
As far as speculation, circumstantial evidence, and blather...that goes on with any unsolved case. If you're asking, this is how we think it was done, and by whom. (See attached) It's an overview. The actual report sent to the Seattle FBI on Christiansen runs 74 pages, including a section of pictures and documents.

You could get better results with pictures of naked women.

If the plane is unrecoverable then exiting is a very very good idea.

Well there IS a 'Boobies' thread in Bonfire!

I dunno...the Cooper thread is like another channel on TV - if ya don't like what's on it, don't watch it. ;)

Good idea--Give these fanatics their own forum for D B Cooper.

There is no acceptance of the real facts in the case on this forum. In most every case, the information is intentionally incorrect or intended to mislead the obvious. The thread is merely a medium for proliferation of mis-information by storytellers like Blevins who seek notoriety from an orange crate pulpit. I think the forum should be shut down and erased as it offers very little in true facts other than Mrs. Weber's basic premise which can not be proven to a bunch of naysayers. It is not a factual account of history, merely what certain people and their representatives wish to have you believe. Hint: It really ain't the case. It is simply window dressing to hide the real truth. Our Government does not tell you everything. Sometimes you get tricked into going along with their program. Figure it out yourself. Don't be taken in by these hucksters.
