Guru312 0 #5 September 9, 2014 Technically not a skydiving patch but my favorite because it was such painful, hard, dusty, dirty work to get. AIRBORNE!! All the way!Guru312 I am not DB Cooper

Ronhend 0 #11 September 26, 2014 This was about 1977 or so when I was around 22 years old. I was a member of Birmingham Parachute Assn.(Birmingham, Alabama) I made my 5 static line jumps and a couple of hot & pops there. Now at 60 years of age I find myself interested again, just did a tandem on 9/20.Maybe AFF is in my future, we'll see where it goes from here.Ron ATP B-727 B767-757 CFI-II
patmoore 14 #12 September 28, 2014 I don't know who created this patch but I think it was to commemorate the world's first "All Couples Star" in Riverview, FL around 1975, There were four sets of husbands and wives in the formation: Ruth and Lance Lanier, Ski and Donna Chmielewski, Ed and Charlene Moore, and Pat and Connie Moore. I built seven of the eight rigs in that shot. Freefall photo taken by Mike Swain. We used two 182s and had to squeeze six people in one to get Mike on board to take shots. And yes, we did bust the clouds. The photo of the formation is part of the banner of DZGone.comDZGone.com B-4600, C-3615, D-1814, Gold Wings #326, Diamond Wings #152. CazmoDee 3 #15 November 7, 2014 Soooo, I was going through some of my Dad's old stash, and came across this "banner" he made. It hung in the hall of our home, my entire childhood. Enjoy... CazmoDee 3 #18 November 7, 2014 This one covered the back of an old Pioneer double zipper jumpsuit. I jumped it once, then "retired" it. dzswoop717 5 #20 November 8, 2014 What a wonderful collection. I bet the skydiving museum would be interested in what you have. Your Dad's legacy could be on display for everyone to enjoy. VERY COOL!!!!!!!
ArvinAlP64 5 #21 November 8, 2014 Hi Chris, I couldn't help noticing that little patch marked "5 June 1944" at the right of plate #1. Did your dad jump into St. Mere Eglise the night before D Day? If so, what unit was he with at the time? Did he talk about those experiences? I'm attaching my one and only patch from my short civilian career. CazmoDee 3 #22 November 9, 2014 Hey Al, My Dad would have only been 12 in 1944. Not sure where he got that patch. He and my Mom were stationed in France and Germany in the '50's and '60's. He may have picked it up then...We moved back state side in about '69.I'm behind the bar at Sloppy Joe's....See ya in the Keys! Muff 4313

dzswoop717 5 #24 November 9, 2014 You should jump it. Looks to be in great shape. Any rigger could inspect it and tell you if it is airworthy. Your old man had cool stuff.
Spooky52 0 #25 November 10, 2014 CazmoDee: I was wondering where you got the Fort Lee SPC patch. I haven't seen one of those since I left the club in 1965. Fort Lee is where I started jumping in 1963. It was a great club with some really nice folks (and a few assholes). I was the only Air Force member most of the time.
