saw masters of the sky at the end of my fjc in 1973.

It was "the" film when I saw it in early 1974. Wings would have been about 76 I would guess.

What about "Proof". "like a bb into dogshit"......
My computer beat me at chess, It was no match for me at kickboxing....

The jumps in Carl's first El Capitan movie occurred in August 1978, so it would have been shortly after that. Some of that also appeared in Skydive!, so it was after that also. There was other El Cap footage from the 'legal' season in 1980 that appeared in some of Carl's other BASE movies.

Freak Brothers was at Freeport so my guess 83or4. --------------

Close on Freak Brothers. It premiered at the '83 convention. From germination to completion let's call it late '82 through middle '83.

One of my all time favorite boogie movies! B|

Hi Z-B-T,
Big Yup on Freak Brothers. Came out in 83', went to the '84 Convention in Freakport, the 24 way "Teacup" was tops!! In the movie the "Teacup" dive was a smaller formation! Interestingly a few of the shots that Norm put in Freak Brothers movie were shot at "Perris!!" We're drinkin beer and watchin the first run of the movie at Perris and lo and behold is a scene where "Sweet" Sally Wener flyz up and docks on "MY" leg and waves at the Camera man!!!! It'z been a while, gotta break out the tapes and a 12-pak!!

I saw Masters in Dec. of '69. I always liked the idea of skydiving from the Ripcord TV show but when I saw the scene with all the oranges I knew I was going to do it. Two months later I got the chance and my life started down a very different path.

Truman Sparks always reminded me of Norm Ross. Norm wann't spacey like Truman but every bit as laid back.

Are you sure it was 69'? I could swear that some of the accuracy landings were from the nationals at Plattsburg which was June 70'. But that has been a long time ago and it has been a long time since I last saw the movie.

I'm pretty sure it was Masters of the Sky. It was the one with the oranges comming out all over the screen. I am absolutely certain the time was Dec. of '69. I had just gotten back from RVN and had gone to see Easy Rider. The short before the movie was this skydiving thing that was the seed crystal that changed my world. Oh yeah. Easy Rider was pretty cool too. Except the ending sucked.

Attached is a pic of the late 1950's or early 1960's Super 8mm film "Skydiving." My dad gave it to me as a kid, and I watched it over and over. Helped fuel my desire to jump. After I dust off the old unused super 8 projector, I'll see what data or credits it may have. Perhaps someone here will remember it.

Add to the list Mike Swain's "The Endless Fall" (video and book). I had a couple of appearances in that one as well as one brief shot of an accuracy landing in "Masters of the Sky" which I think was filmed at Marana in '69.

not sure of dates

I saw Masters around 75 in Nova Scotia just after starting into this lunacy... (after a fat old ... never mind)

later I watched Masters Of The Sky in the loft at the old Z-hills around 79-80 and we had Jerry Bird there narrating...

what a trip ! (I think that was after another fat, old ... never mind)

I have a copy of that film somewhere in the house. Use to watch it over and over until I wore out the projector!
