JohnRich 4 #1 December 23, 2010 While digging through my skydiving closet I ran across a somewhat old parachute with something very unusual on it - a hand-lettered data panel (see the attached photo). I think it's called a five cell because there are only 6 span-wise rows of support lines, such that four of the five "cells" have three chambers each. So what's the official definition of a "cell"? The Aqutron's were also trapezoidal in shape rather than rectangular - the trailing edge was a bit wider than the leading edge. This made them look sort of pigeon-toed in the air.
