Farf I'm not one of those jumpers that picks a fight with anything a Whuffo says and I dont expect them to be especially appreciative of being treated in a civil manner.
And yes, jumpers feel they are free to opine on all sorts of non jumping stuff here and that their opinion shall take precedence over anything contrary posted by a Whuffo regardless of the Whuffo's subject matter expertise. Titanium Schmitanium. We know what happened. We don't need no stinking scanning electron microscopes. 
BTW, what happened with your colleague who didnt sign the option amendment? Did he get rich?
The CEO of a company in Silicon Valley bought a Ferrari right after a successful IPO in which he got a lions share stake of the upside. Things didn't work out so well:

I am almost shocked that it would be hydraulic with oil. Back in the 1960-1970 era, I got a bit of experience with hydraulic flight control systems in helicopters.
Cold weather and the O rings in the hardware don't get along with each other in the first place. Even in more moderate climates the O rings routinely leaked fluid and made a mess. Overhaul of these units was necessary at very frequent intervals.
In a parachute, I imagine the canopy and harness would be damaged when one of these units leaked a bit. I doubt if the ripstop material used in canopies in 1971 could handle the oil.

THAT IS ALL IN THE THREAD AND IT WAS SIGNED BY THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE AT THAT TIME. You do YOUR own research. I believe the Commutation exists on the thread a document. We DID ALL OF THIS AND IT IS VALID.
Go the prison files yourself. It is there also. I do NOT feel like dealing with the LIKES of you. END of YOUR enquires that are right here in this thread.

It's not a big secretive kind of thing.....
Q: What are the differences between a pardon and a commutation?

Tax bills......Reasons one might not pay on time....
1. Divorce - It's her responsibility now, damn it.

3. Procrastination.....making him wait.
4. Don't want to part with money until last possible minute.
5. Everyone else is doing it.
6. Form of protest.
7. Misplaced the safe deposit box key so can't get to heisted twenties.
8. Lost the money on the trip down.
9. Broke as hell cause Kenny wouldn't give him his half of the money.
Like I said - means nothing in the DB Cooper scheme of things.
I know one guy that's wealthy, but is tight as a tick and has every dime and dollar he's ever made. He's an old southern lawyer and waits til the folks are gathered on the courthouse steps like vultures before he pays his taxes. And he can afford to pay his and lots more besides. Funny as hell too. I thought I was very transparent with the juxtaposition of whuffos showing gratitude for being allowed to use one out of a quarter million threads, as an act of supreme generosity. Was I really that vague? How does anyone even get bothered by something that is 1/250,000th of anything? Remember the initial question?
As far as your viewpoint:
I suppose that having whuffos comment on skydiving would be quite infuriating to a seasoned or junior (1?) jumper. The outrage makes sense and I can totally understand that position and can support your platform on this subject.
So…. ummm…. just for the sake of ‘argument’, let’s say, in some rare event, not that it has ever happened mind you, that a skydiver BSed on a subject, that whuffos did for a primary living. Like I say here, I’m going way, way, out on a limb, on the tree of ridiculous improbability. Would there be an equal sense of outrage, angst and pants pissing going on?
Hmmm…. so deep, so philosophical, and indeed……. unfathomably unanswerable.
Thank goodness duplicity and hypocrisy are only gaseous concepts and imponderable theories. Imagine living in a world where that stuff actually existed.
Just like the lack of proportionality of a CEO that possesses enough genuine megalomania to actually believe they can perform at a rate of 100,000 X another person, so was the comparison of unbridled despair a single thread could cause in a fabric of 250,000. That was all.
