What do we make of this discrepancy? The "cockpit can put it down" line is essentially a silver bullet for any suspect who had flown or was intimately familiar with the 727, since they would have known that the cockpit didn't have the controls to do that.

True, probably had general aviation knowledge or from a C-130..

But, this is the Vortex nothing is easy,,,,

It’s almost as if individual words sometimes matter…

Ridiculous that one of the premier law enforcement agencies on the planet didn’t audio record their interviews.

The FBI had a reputation for not recording interviews so they could let's say engineer 302's to fit their purpose,, several court cases later many States require the FBI to record interviews..

Lack of recording interviews was a feature not a bug..

A wise judge once said, "sometimes a lawsuit is just a press release with a filing fee."

Much depends on what the FBI wants to do! They could suck up to Ulis and use him, then let the clock run, then drop him or trade him for a can of chicken soup when the time comes. In any event: sooner or later its Ulis who ?  Ulis needs to find another career!  After the last one and the one before that . . .

How about a cooking show? Chef Ulinaise ? Or cats ?  Or grapes and watermelons ? Or Alligators?  Or Skin Walker Ranch?  Searching for Cleopatra and the Lost Arc of the Covenant ?  He can sue Egypt and Israel for hiding evidence ..

This has been touched on before.. it is very interesting but frustrating because the redactions mean we can't follow up on it...

It may be a hoax or unrelated,,,

Washougal was the base for many logging companies.. "operating out of the Washougal, Washington area." but it isn't clear where the money was actually found.

Quantity of old $20's..

It was just prior to the TBAR discovery..

The date of this report is the end of April.. (Spring/Summer diatoms timing)

I think I have the first code...

Have been working on the second code 7698QA2753...

The first code type matches the letter, the second one was typed on a different typewriter. Two typewriters??

The letter was typed out then copied and the codes were added, presumably 4 letters with distinct codes, we only have the two codes, the other two are unknown or not sent to the FBI.

The code resembles a MGRS coordinate.. found one that matches a location in Laos.. ( Los Angeles)

might just be a coincidence.,,

any ideas for that second code..

Witness recall study... "under estimate the height of taller subjects and overestimate the height of shorter targets." "a regression to the mean" or witnesses recall tends toward average..

This didn't touch on a stressful situation...

The most comprehensive study I've seen on eyewitness accuracy was a study done by Dutch academics. They found that 44% of eyewitnesses were able to get within an inch. So if 44% of witnesses chose 6'1 for a height, then the actual perp was between 6'0 and 6'2. 34% of people were given a "partly correct" assessment, which means they got within two inches, so if they chose 6'1 then the person was actually 5'11 or 6'3. And as you can see 22% fell outside that range on their estimations.

As far as eyewitnesses overestimating the height of criminals during a crime (when they are aware of the crime), that's pretty much settled science at this point.

People are asked later to estimate a subject's height, they are using recall and estimating based on an impression stored in memory. The bias is to be conservative and trend toward the mean...

For Cooper, he was seated almost the entire time,, people get an impression based on other factors like weight, body shape, race etc....

Boeing 727 flaps

up, 2, 5, 15, 25, 30, 40...  Some airlines blocked the 40 due to accidents.

15 is down but sort of in the middle down range.

Flaps were 30 degrees at 7:45..

you CAN trim flaps...  not must

Something has always been off,,, how did Cooper get the 727 range so wrong.. he had aviation knowledge.

Tina wrote down the hijacker's going to Mexico and plane configuration demands but relayed them to the cockpit via the "interphone" ..

I can't find any evidence that Tina's (Mexico demand) note was ever taken to the cockpit.. can anybody else find it?

"on the telephone relaying the hijacker's demands to the captain"

coopdemandsd.jpeg.9a1d6ea81f5f1ef41e51a46a0d55c4c5.jpeg

wrote demands on pay sheet..

instructions given to the pilot,, doesn't say note

Demands forwarded through Tina..

Screen-Shot-2023-03-10-at-4_57.55-PM.jpg.0ef218873ba6cc99e63dcc3eda41fd6a.jpg

Cooper demanded the all the notes back, they were returned by Flo... the third one hadn't been written yet.

If those demands were conveyed to the cockpit via the interphone there is room for error and misunderstanding by sender and receiver..  what if Cooper wanted the flaps down and gear down later when he indicated and not the entire flight.. Why, he initially demanded stairs lowered in flight, maybe that was when he wanted the plane to fly dirty but there was a miscommunication/misunderstanding between Tina and the cockpit conveying his demand.. then the plane would have had the fuel to make Mexico..

If anybody can find evidence that the "Mexico" note taken down by Tina was sent to the cockpit please post it,,

This is important.

Do we know if they go back and unredact 302's? Let's take Braden, for example. If someone were to submit proof of death on Braden, and he was mentioned in Vault 25, would they go back and unredact him in Vault 25 and reupload Vault 25?

You'd have to submit a FOIA to find out..

Thanks.

Talked to two Portland agents today - They want to see these pages ... but, a former friend of H says he remembers the 'situation' involving the CB guys. He thinks it got referred to Seattle? .... 'H always felt Cooper had landed close to the Washougal and went that direction to follow the roads south. When money was found a year later on the Columbia the Washougal came up again! Ralph grinned... '

The problems are the money they (supposedly) found never turned up anywhere as Cooper's.

AND the rubber bands would have deteriorated after 8 years in the woods,, disturbing the order of the money.

No,

Bank straps are a given to disintegrate quickly,, the rubber bands held the packets together and lasted much longer.

Ok, so nobody cares,,, this is a big deal.

I have done a thorough search and can't find anything that says the "Mexico" note dictated by Tina went to the cockpit, she did communicate via the telephone/interphone..

That means the demands may have been misinterpreted by the crew...
