Ralph_W 0 #1 September 3, 2017 Will be in Denver/Colorade Springs Area of the weekend of September 16/17. Jumped at Mile-Hi, nice place but now want to check out the other DZs in the area. DZ.com lists the following places: - Out of the Blue - Calhan - Skydive Colorado - Penrose - High Sky Adventures - Penrose - Rocky Mountain Skidiving - La Salle - Skydive Empire - Fort Morgan Any recomondations/opinions on these places? Any other dropzones around worth considering? Thanks for the advice Blues Skies RalphSilence is golden. www.bt-ag.ch
cjdskydiver 4 #2 September 9, 2017 I highly recommend Out of the Blue. They have an awesome King Air that climbs like an elevator. It's a B200, which has a high T-tail. Skydive Empire closed several years ago.
skiNEwhere 0 #3 September 11, 2017 I will second OOTB. Main differences. Mile-Hi is 5,000 MSL, OOTB is 6,100. So max you're gonna get at OOTB is 11.5-11.8k AGL, vs 12.5k at Mile-Hi. A full jump ticket at mile-hi costs $28 vs $25 at OOTB. I didn't see Roaring Fork Skydivers in that list, that's a really cool 182 DZ that operates IN the rockies, but last I checked their plane needed some major repairs and they were having to borrow a plane, so I would call first. BTW....OOTB has heli-jumps this weekend!! EDIT: Didn't see you mention you jumped at mile-hi. Personally I've noticed that the landings are a little bit faster at OOTBLife moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it
